We’ve partnered with Canada’s premiere logistics companies to deliver our premium gifts across Canada.Transit times vary by destination and shipping method. Orders received before noon EST Monday to Friday are shipped same day unless requested otherwise.

Order deadlines

To ensure your gift gets delivered in time for the holidays, here are our cut-off dates. We require a 48-hour processing time. Please note that we ship out of Montreal. Rural addresses may take longer. Ground shipping does not guarantee a specific delivery date. If you are sending to an office, please make sure they are open the week of December 22

  • December 15 to Western Canada
  • December 15 to Eastern Canada
  • December 17 to Ontario
  • December 18 to Quebec

Shipping suspension

HEAT SENSITIVE ITEMS

Chocolate and candy confections are shipped from our facility all year round. Ice packs are used during warm temperatures to preserve the products for a period of 24 hours. Next Day service is highly recommended.

Heat sensitive items ship Monday through Thursday only during the summer months. Local hand deliveries are available Monday through Sunday. If heat temperatures are extremely high and may affect the product, we will delay the delivery.

Please ensure your gift recipient will be available to receive their gift delivery during warmer months. If you recipient is not home and the parcel is released by our carrier, we will not be held responsible for melted products.

Please allow 1-2 additional days for deliveries to non-major cities and remote locations. Please note certain fees may apply to remote and rural destinations.

The following Canadian destinations are exempt from our Standard, Expedited & Next Day Delivery options:

City of Nunavut
The Yukon
Northwest Territories

We would be pleased to provide you with a competitive shipping rate to any of the above destinations.

LATE, LOST OR DAMAGED

All orders are shipped from our facility in Montreal, Quebec. Please keep in mind when submitted your orders that the outlined transit times are only estimates and may vary depending on the destinations. Please refer to our Delivery & Shipping times for more details.

The Sweet Basket Company is not responsible for delivery delays that occur as a result of poor weather conditions or parcel volume with our shipping carriers. Refunds are not available if circumstances are beyond our control.

Our orders are inspected by Quality Control prior to shipping from our facility. If your parcel appears opened, damaged or tampered with, please contact us within 3 days of receipt so we may file a claim with our carrier and issue a replacement gift or refund.

ADDRESS CORRECTIONS OR REROUTING

It is important that you provide us with the complete and accurate delivery information including a telephone number for your recipient at the time of submitting your order.

In the event an incorrect postal code is provided or unit number is missing, a correction fee of $13.50 (plus applicable sales tax) is charged by our carrier to successfully deliver your order. Please note that incomplete or inaccurate information may also result in delays or the return of your parcel to our facility.
Once your gift order has been processed and shipped from our facility, we cannot make any changes to the delivery address.

In the event your gift recipient requests that their gift order be redirected to an alternate address, an address redirection fee of $13.50 (plus applicable sales tax) will be charged by our carrier.

The Sweet Basket Delivery to hospitals, hotels and Universities

Deliveries to

HOSPITALS, HOTELS & UNIVERSITIES

We offer local hand delivery and shipping with our carriers to hospitals, hotels and universities. Please note that these establishments have a central Receiving department where packages are accepted from our drivers and carriers and then and remitted to patients, guests or students by their staff.

Hospitals, hotels and universities do not always permit our drivers to personally deliver gifts to their recipients for security reasons.

For hotel deliveries, we require the name under which the reservation was made in order for the front desk to accept your order.

For hospital deliveries, please ensure that the maiden name (if applicable) is provided along with the patient’s room number when submitting your order.

Please note The Sweet Basket Company will not be held responsible for parcels which have reached their destination and for which the employees at the hotel, hospital or hotel did not remit the gift in a prompt manner. Our responsibility ends once the gift parcel has reached its destination. Claims for misplaced or lost gifts by hospital, hotel or university personnel will NOT be honored.
